Bronze Medal Award Winners

MESA USA National Engineering Design Competition (NEDC)

Congratulations to the McDaniel High School MESA Students and Advisor of Portland! Team members Conner Lanusse, Frankie Silverstein, and Akosha Taylor won the Bronze Medal Award for their MESA USA NEDC Product Pitch Video. In this category there were multiple High Schools representing from the States of Arizona, California, Maryland, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

Under the direction of MESA Advisor and Portland Public School District teacher, Frank Fields, the students developed a project called “Task Counter.” The competition’s theme was “Designing for Equity and the Oregon MESA theme of the year was “La Familia. The students goal was, “to create something that would help our client, Suzanne Silverstein, stay on top of her tasks. The project is light, transportable, with a simple design that is intuitive, and does not require fine motor skills.” To view their winning pitch and see more about their product and other teams products visit the NEDC website.
