Celebrating our 2022 NEDC Teams!

We are so proud of our two teams representing Oregon at this year’s National Engineering and Design Competition! The Eagled Eyes from Parkrose High School and Chico & Co from Brixner Junior High placed first in the State in our Harvest to Table engineering challenge and are now presenting their amazing projects at the national competition, alongside students from all over the country.

Aron, Essey, George, and Tyler from Parkrose High School will be presenting their “Mobile Locker System”. With 71% of Parkrose High School students qualifying for free and reduced lunch, the Eagled Eyes Team created a prototype to increase confidentiality and accessibility to the Parkrose Provides food pantry. Their project wants to ensure all students and families experiencing food insecurity have a safe and discrete experience with the school’s food resource.

Onyx and Stephanie from Brixner Junior High worked with a local farm owner to make farming more accessible to people with different abilities. They created a prototype adding a wheeled modification to protective high tunnels, making it so they can be moved from place to place by one person with a remote device. Read more about their project here.

Tune in to watch their project pitches at our 2022 virtual MESA NEDC tomorrow, Friday June 24th. Join the event at 10:00am to catch pitches from students from all over the country, and make sure to cheer on the Eagled Eyes and Chico & Co from 1:00pm-1:30pm. We are so excited to celebrate them and all the national MESA talent and creativity!
