MESA Demo Day 2021

Saturday, March 6th, 2021 (1-3 pm) – new date

Due to the severe weather events creating power outages across the state and school closures, MESA is rescheduling Demo Day to Saturday, March 6th, from 1-3 pm.

At Demo Day, MESA middle school and high school students will showcase their current projects. This year’s challenge theme is “design for equity & la familia.” Designing for Equity means designing to minimize or eliminate barriers to opportunities for success. We tasked our students with interviewing a client and designing something that allows their client to overcome a barrier. Our students will then develop a solution to empower their “client” using the principles of human-centered design and invention education.

This year Demo Day is 100% virtual (on zoom), which allows us to feature students across Oregon. Our students are middle school and high school students from Multnomah, Clackamas, Marion, and Washington Counties.

Demo Day is Oregon MESA’s only annual student showcase that is open to the public and allows for the community to come and check out the amazing work that students have done.

Demo Day and all of our programs at Oregon MESA are only possible with the generosity of our corporate and nonprofit partners as well as individual donations.

We look forward to seeing you online on March 6th, 2021!
