Recognition from Insight Into Academia Highlights Oregon MESA’s Commitment to Inclusive Excellence in STEM Education
PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon chapter of MESA (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) has been named a recipient of the 2025 Insight Into Academia Inspiring Programs in STEM Award. This national honor recognizes programs that inspire and support the recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
As one of only 52 recipients nationwide, Oregon MESA will be featured in the June 2025 issue of Insight Into Academia magazine, the oldest and largest publication focused on academic excellence and belonging in higher education. The award spotlights individual initiatives that advance inclusive excellence and create pathways to STEM success for all students.

Insight Into Academia selected Oregon MESA for its innovative, community-based programming that equips middle and high school students with the tools to solve real-world problems through invention. By working closely with teachers, families, and industry mentors, Oregon MESA fosters an inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and professionally in STEM fields.
