Donate to our Toolkit Drive

Help us provide students with the tools they need to create tomorrow’s inventions, donate to our Toolkit Drive! As we are gearing up for an exciting new school year, we need your help providing our students with the essential tools and materials needed to bring their innovative ideas to life.

Every MESA school gets its own toolboxes and toolkits, packed with crafting tools to create prototypes, both for our annual invention challenge and for quick engineering builds. These prototypes aren’t just models, they are stepping stones to fully realized inventions that can change the world.

Do you have any tools or items that you are no longer using that you would like to donate? Here is what we need:

  • MESA staff members posing with tools in the MESA officeMultibit screwdrivers and bits
  • Hand saws, hacksaws and mini hacksaws
  • Mitre Boxes
  • Exacto knife sets and pipe cutters
  • Duct tape
  • Assorted pliers and wrenches sets
  • Boxes of nails
  • Construction paper
  • Recyclable materials: cereal boxes, milk cartons, toilet paper/paper towel tubes, yogurt cups, any containers that can be washed out that food comes in (think like sour cream containers), and anything else that is recyclable that is NOT glass or metal.

If you have items to donate, contact our Executive Director Elizabeth Stock at e.stock@pdx.edu.

Don’t have any items to share? Make a tax-deductible donation, even a small amount goes a long way!

  • $25 covers a set of clamps, pliers, safety glasses or gloves
  • $50 covers a new drill or saw

  • Gift cards to Home Depot or Amazon are always appreciated and will be put to great use!
